A drone launched from Yemen struck Eilat, wounding at least 22 people, local medics reported Wednesday.
The Israeli military confirmed air defences failed to intercept the drone before it hit the Red Sea city.
Magen David Adom said two people suffered serious injuries while others sustained minor wounds.
Authorities Secure Site and Warn Public
Police deployed bomb disposal experts to inspect the drone remnants.
They instructed residents to avoid the area and not touch potential explosives.
The Israeli military urged the public to follow Home Front Command safety instructions posted online.
Houthis Escalate Attacks Amid Regional Tensions
Iran-backed Houthi rebels regularly target Israel with drones and missiles, citing solidarity with Palestinians.
The Houthis also attack ships in the Red Sea trade corridor, halving maritime shipping since November 2023.
Israel and the United States retaliated with air strikes, killing Houthi leaders and targeting infrastructure in Sanaa.
The Houthis vowed revenge for the deaths of Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and half of his cabinet.
