Abdullah Othman, Gaddafi’s political adviser, confirmed the death in a brief Facebook post but did not identify those responsible. His French lawyer, Marcel Ceccaldi, told AFP that the identities of the assailants are still unknown. Ceccaldi noted that one of Gaddafi’s close associates had warned about security concerns roughly ten days prior to the incident.
