Erling Haaland once again proved unstoppable as Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3-1, moving into second place in the Premier League. The Norwegian striker scored twice in the first half, taking his league tally to 13 goals this season and an astonishing 98 in 107 Premier League appearances.
Haaland punished Bournemouth’s high defensive line with two ruthless finishes — first racing clear from halfway to slot past goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, then rounding him for his second after Bournemouth had equalized through Tyler Adams.
Nico O’Reilly sealed the victory with a composed strike in the second half after fine link-up play from Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki, marking City’s sixth league win of the campaign.
Manager Pep Guardiola praised the team’s control and composure, while Haaland joked afterward: “I think a few fantasy football managers were unhappy I got subbed off!”
The win puts City six points behind leaders Arsenal, while Bournemouth’s search for form under Andoni Iraola continues.
